From The Earth’s Top Things to Do in Huntington Beach, California

Huntington Beach (AKA Surf City) is one of the most iconic beaches in Orange County, and we feel lucky to be just 20 minutes away. Surf City has so much to do that boredom is never an option. These are some of our local favorites.

1. The Huntington Beach Pier

Huntington Beach Pier juts 1,850 feet out into the Pacific Ocean at the Main Street and Pacific Coast Highway intersection, just 20 minutes from From The Earth. This iconic pier is the flagship landmark of Huntington Beach and the most famous and photographed spot in town. Walk the pier and take in the stunning views while surfers rip the waves below.

The Huntington Beach Pier has a rich history and was once the site of historic surfing demonstrations by legendary Hawaiian watermen George Freeth and Duke Kahanamoku, enshrined in Huntington Beach surfing lore. Honor that Hawaiian heritage and pick up a Maui Wowie disposable from Lit before you go.

2. Huntington Surfing Museum

Surf lover Natalie Kotsch founded this museum in 1987. Since that time, the museum has hosted countless rotating exhibits that celebrate the past, present, and future of surfing. The art deco building features murals of surfers and surfboard evolution. It’s also the home of the Guinness World Record World’s Largest Surfboard — 42 feet long, 11 feet wide, 16 inches thick, and a heavy 1,300 pounds.

Located at 411 Olive Ave in Huntington Beach, the Huntington Surfing Museum is just 11 miles from From The Earth. So grab some Blue Dream Mini-Blunts from Stiiizy before you go to spark that creative mind.

3. The Huntington Beach Art Center

The Art Center is the creative heart of downtown HB. A community center for art and culture, this space for creative expression offers low-cost, high-quality art, music, and movement classes. It also features dynamic exhibitions for local, regional, and national artists to share in a climate of experimentation, education, and experience. The Art Center’s exhibitions, performances, film/video screenings, lectures, and educational programming advance public awareness and understanding of cultural, historical, and contemporary perspectives.

You can find The Huntington Beach Art Center at 538 Main St. In Huntington Beach, a short 25-minute drive from From The Earth. We recommend you grab a bag of Churro Krispies from La Familia on your way because, well, they’re awesome.

4. Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve

Get close to nature at Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve. The reserve is the largest saltwater marsh on the California coast, with 1,300-acre wetlands and five miles of trails. Nearly 200 resident and transient bird species use the wetlands as a critical stopover while migrating along the Pacific Flyway. There are also over 100 native plants and trees found in the reserve.

The Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve is north of Huntington Beach on the world-famous Pacific Coast Highway. Just a half hour away from From The Earth, pick up some Jellyfish CBD flower from GlassHouse to help you relax and connect with the natural world.

5. Yoga on the Beach

Improve yourself through movement, breathwork, and meditation. Huntington Beach offers daily donation-based yoga classes at Tower 14 on City Beach (on 14th and Pacific Coast Highway, on the left side of the tower). Just 20 minutes from From The Earth, the classes are taught by certified instructors, and all levels of yoga experience are welcome.

Bring a mat, water, sunscreen, and a swimsuit to cool off in the Pacific after class. Grab a Rally Recovery Drink by Surplus at From The Earth before you go and make the most of your post-yoga recovery.
